Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using rankwise.ca or booking a service with Rankwise.
1. Who we are
Rankwise is a sole proprietorship registered in British Columbia, Canada, operated by Zack Shefrin. We provide local SEO and Google Business Profile management services exclusively for HVAC contractors in the Lower Mainland and Metro Vancouver area.

2. Services and engagement model
Rankwise offers local SEO services — including Google Business Profile optimization, Map Pack ranking work, citation management, review velocity management, and local content strategy — to HVAC contractors in the Lower Mainland.
Our engagement model:
- One contractor per city. Rankwise accepts a maximum of one HVAC contractor per service market to avoid conflicts of interest.
- Month-to-month, no long-term contract. Engagements run month-to-month. There is no minimum commitment period and no cancellation penalty.
- Milestones agreed in writing before month one. A starting Map Pack position and a 90-day milestone are documented and agreed upon before the engagement begins. If a milestone is missed, billing pauses until it is met.
Specific service scope, deliverables, and pricing are set out in a separate written agreement between Rankwise and the client.
3. Website and free audit tool use
The rankwise.ca website, including the instant audit tool, is provided for informational purposes. Use of the site and audit tool is subject to these terms.
- The instant audit tool retrieves publicly available Google Business Profile data and provides an informational snapshot of a business's current online presence. Results are estimates only and are not a guarantee of any future ranking, traffic, or business outcome.
- You agree not to use the site or audit tool for any unlawful purpose, to scrape or systematically collect data from the site, or to attempt to interfere with its operation.
- The site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
4. No guarantee of specific Google rankings
Google controls its own search and Maps results. Ranking outcomes depend on Google's algorithms, competitor activity, review volume, and many factors outside Rankwise's control. No specific ranking position or traffic level can be guaranteed. Rankwise sets measurable milestones in writing and takes accountability through the billing pause model described in Section 2, but this is a performance commitment — not a guarantee of any particular outcome.
5. Intellectual property
All content on rankwise.ca — including text, graphics, code, data, and the Rankwise Lab studies — is owned by Rankwise unless otherwise noted. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from site content without written permission.
Content you provide to Rankwise as part of a client engagement (business information, photos, descriptions) remains your property. You grant Rankwise a limited licence to use that content to deliver the agreed services.
6. Third-party services
Rankwise's work and this website rely on third-party platforms, including:
- Google — Google Business Profile, Google Maps, Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, and Google Places API.
- Cal.com — used for booking discovery calls and audits. Cal.com's own terms and privacy policy apply to bookings made through their platform.
- Cloudflare — used for bot protection (Turnstile) on the audit widget.
- Supabase — used for backend data storage associated with the audit tool and client portal.
Rankwise is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services.
7. Limitation of liability and disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- Rankwise provides its services and this website without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- Rankwise is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site or services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
- Rankwise's total liability for any claim arising from these terms or the services shall not exceed the fees paid by the client in the month in which the claim arose.
8. Changes to these terms
Rankwise may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site or services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. For material changes affecting active client engagements, Rankwise will provide notice by email.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these terms or Rankwise's services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia, Canada.
